New Hat Rules for 2016

Competitors need to be aware that from the 1st January 2016 headgear bearing solely the BSEN1384 and EN1384 standard will not be accepted at Midland & Western Dressage shows or training events. Dressage Ireland will be implementing a tagging system whereby competitors will need to declare to the show secretary with their hats which will be checked and tagged if compliant with the current regulations.

Hats bearing one of the following standards will be accepted for tagging:

PAS 015 (1988 and 2011)
VGI 01.040 (2014-12)
ASTM F1163 (2004a or 04a onwards)
SNELL E2001
AS/NZS 3838 (2006 onwards)

Please be warned that if you can not produce the correct head gear you will be unable to ride at the event for insurance reasons. It is expected that the tagging will commence in March. If you have any queries please contact either the show or regional secretaries.
